Newcastle
Mott MacDonald’s Newcastle office consists of
approximately 70 staff covering various disciplines including water
engineering, structural design, geotechnics and PFI advisory
services. The office is located centrally, on the Newcastle
Quayside alongside several other major firms. Transport links are
excellent and nearby amenities include several restaurants, bars,
The Sage Gateshead concert hall, the Millennium Bridge and the
Baltic Art Gallery. The atmosphere in the Newcastle office is always lively, open and friendly. This is very much down to the staff here, who I have to say are terrific to work with. There’s a great range of different backgrounds and interests, which keeps a fresh feel in the office.
Newcastle is a fantastic place to live and work. I would definitely say that the ‘quality of life’ here is so much better. Whilst work can be pretty hectic and fast-paced, outside of work, Newcastle lets you be as relaxed or a vibrant as you choose.
Newcastle has more than its fair share of great bars and live music venues, as well as art galleries and live theatre. Rail and air links to and from Newcastle are comprehensive. Newcastle Airport operates direct flights for those weekend getaways to numerous locations such as New York, Oslo and Barcelona, whilst if you only want to go as far as London, you can get there within two hours and forty minutes. At weekends, the awesome Northumberland coastline is never far away, as well as a host of crags, castles (some haunted) and erm, curry houses! There’s an ever expanding choice of food and restaurants on offer, from pimientos del piquillo con bacalao y gambas at the tapas bars, right down to the classic Greggs Steak Bake!
Add to that, the numerous sports clubs and gyms available, as well as the greatest football team in the world, and well, there’s certainly always something to do in Newcastle!!
