Having worked as a project manager in Mott MacDonald for five
years, the one thing that has remained constant during that time is
I have never worked on the same type of project twice. The 5 roles
I have had during my time here vary from implementing the roll out
of an IT system, to delivering a track transit system at Heathrow
Terminal 5.
Project management means different things to different people and as long as you don’t get too hung up on this as a term, you can basically become involved in anything. Essentially you will be grown within the division to develop your own ‘set of tools’ which you can apply as you see fit. But what is really class about project management in Motts is that you have a whole bunch of experts outside of this division that you can tap on as need be.
Sectors you can work in include railways, buildings, industry and technology and international work, all of which include a lot of great high profile projects.
In a nut shell, if you want variety, if you want change, if you want exposure this is the way to do it!
